Cacao is a very special girl and came from Donna from Chinasea Siamese & Orientals. While there are quite a lot of Black Tortie Orientals around, there is, and only ever will be, one Cacao!

She was our first Oriental breeding queen and in her short breeding career, not only was she an excellent mum, she also provided us with absolutely beautiful Oriental and Siamese babies. Unfortunately, during Cacao's 3rd litter, she reabsorbed at approximately 4 weeks of age. We were quite upset by this but our main concern was that our Cacao's health was not at any risk at all. Shortly after her miscarriage, Cacao developed Pyometra which required emergency surgery and resulted in a full hysterectomy.

Whilst we were sad that her breeding career was over at such a young age, we were incredibly lucky as we still have our loving, beautiful girl, and we have her 2 daughters, Schimmel Sakuya (Sambuca), an Oriental Black, & Ch Schimmel Shesadream (Drambuie), an Oriental Black Tortie, her 3 grand daughters, Schimmel Taking A Chance (Cointreau), a Seal Point Siamese, Schimmel Mitta Mitta (Nocello), an Oriental Black, & Ch Schimmel Shesanightmare (Noceno), an Oriental Black Tortie , as well as our fantastic Oriental Stud Cat, DGC Schimmel Stripe It Lucky (Ashanti), a Brown (Black) Oriental Classic Tabby, (Cacao's grandson), and also, Schimmel Bliss Bomb (Afrikoko), a Chocolate Oriental Spotted Tabby, who is Cacao's great granddaughter, all of whom are a credit to Cacao.

We will be forever grateful to Donna for trusting us with our beautiful Tortie girl and I would like to think that had Donna continued breeding, she would have been extremely proud of what Cacao has achieved! What particularly horrified us when Cacao's breeding career was over, was the number of immoral, unethical, breeders who all told us "she was worthless now" and to "get rid of her". These same breeders obviously can not distinguish between having breeding cats who are also family members, and having breeding machines! These same breeders are also to be pitied because they can not understand what it means to share your home with a cat as special as Cacao. Needless to say, our darling Cacao is still with us, as part of the family, like every other cat we share our home with.

Cacao is now the Matriarch of the family and spends her days as a much loved family member. Every single day, we count our blessings that this girl is part of our family, and whilst we totally adore her, let us say we are not blind to her faults! Being a Tortie, she is typically naughty, typically attention seeking, and extremely bossy! Cacao will walk up to our other cats, smack them on the head, scare the heck out of them, for no other reason than the fact that she is Cacao, and she can! She could have the worst faults in the world, and to us, this girl will still be perfect, not because she looks so darn great, not because she has produced some fantastic progeny, but quite simply, because she is Cacao.
