Drambuie is an Oriental Black Tortie. There is just something about Torties, you either love them or you don't and as I am a big lover of Black Tortie Orientals, I just couldn't resist keeping this little girl. We are truly delighted with Drambuie as not only is she the colour I wanted, but the fact that we bred her ourselves means a lot to us.

As I had been so impressed with her mum's temperament and looks, I was hoping that with the right mating, I would be lucky enough to get another Black Tortie from Cacao. Naturally, we were thrilled when in 2003, our darling Cacao produced such a beautiful girl for us who looks so similar to "mum".

Drambuie appears to have the best of both her parents in her which means she is very naughty, very talkative, very loveable and thrives on lots and lots of cuddles. We have watched her grow from birth to the lovely girl that she is now.

She is so very much like her mother, with the one difference being is that even when Drambuie matured, unlike her sister Sambuca, who "calmed down" a little bit, Drambuie became even more naughty as she got older.

There are times when we do despair of this girl, however, her loving attitude more than makes up for her mischievous behaviour. Her only bad fault is her spraying! Drambuie is a persistent sprayer, in the most extremely inappropriate places Drambuie has had quite a good show career and when she reached the title of Champion, we put her on the bench once more to see how she would do but Buie hated it so we have now retired her from showing.

As a mum, Drambuie can not be faulted. She dotes on her children and she has produced some amazing babies for us, including our own Nocello, and our own Nocino.
